Be Aware of New Year Holiday Closures
Buen Kumanoお正月は、日本人にとって大切な祝日です。
普段は休まないお店でも、お正月期間のみ休業となる場合があります。
中辺路沿いのスーパーマーケットや道の駅も、お正月前後は休業することがあります。
お正月前後の日程で、食事付きではない宿や無人宿に宿泊予定のハイカーの方は、正月休みを考慮し、食材の調達に支障が出ないよう、事前に計画を立ててください。
※個人的には、この時期の無人宿の宿泊は避ける方が無難だと考えています。祝日のため、万一トラブルが発生しても、十分なサポートを受けられない可能性があります。

お正月前後に中辺路ルート沿いの売店や飲食店を利用しながら歩く予定の方は、必ず事前に営業日時をご確認ください。
お正月は、普段は都会で暮らしている家族が帰省し、集落がいつもより賑やかになる時期です。不便な面もありますが、特別な時間でもあります。
ハイカーの皆さまも、ぜひ日本のお正月を楽しんでください。
New Year’s Holiday Notice
New Year’s is an important holiday in Japan.
Even shops that are normally open every day may close during the New Year period.
Along the Nakahechi route, supermarkets and Michi no eki rest areas may also be closed around New Year.
Hikers planning to stay at accommodations without meals or at unmanned lodgings during this period should plan ahead and secure food supplies in advance, taking New Year closures into account.
Personally, I recommend avoiding unmanned accommodations during the New Year holidays, as support may not be available if any trouble occurs.

During New Year’s, families who usually live in cities return home, and local villages become livelier than usual. While it may be inconvenient in some ways, it is also a special time of year.
